Valence Technology, Inc. has announced a new module added to its U-Charge® line of lithium iron magnesium phosphate batteries.
The new U27-24XP is a 24V battery rated at 69Ah in a standard BCI Group 27 size, which can be arranged in series to reach any system voltage up to 1000V. Strings can also be added in parallel to produce any size battery the vessel requires. It continues to use the same battery management system (BMS) as the other XP batteries, ensuring ease of integration for existing and new customers.
In addition to offering a new voltage, the U27-24XP includes new terminal designs, which allow for the use of dual-hole lugs for greater contact surface, or for two lugs for easy parallel connections. The terminals’ temperature can now be monitored, aiding quick detection of loose connections.
The materials, construction and layout have been built for increased ruggedness to ensure compliance with UL2580 and all UN-DOT standards. These include an internal cell frame holder as well as specially selected housing materials. The U27-24XP joins the existing U27-12XP (12V) and U27-36XP (36V) batteries in the Valence line-up.
